Be Holy Because I Am Holy
The ministry of sanctification in the ongoing formation of priests
Inspired by the biblical injunction, “Be holy because I am holy” (1 Peter 1: 16), our gathering celebrates the Year for Priests. NOCERCC invites:
ªOngoing presbyteral formation directors and committees in dioceses and religious communities;
ªBishops and major superiors;
ªFaculty and administrators from seminaries and schools of theology;
ªOther clergy vocations, formation, and personnel leaders;
ªAll priests who want to take a sustained look at their sacramental ministry;
ªAnd anyone with an interest in our dialogue.
NOCERCC and The Basic Plan for Ongoing Formation of Priests
In June 2000 the U.S. Catholic bishops unanimously approved The Basic Plan for the Ongoing Formation of Priests and asked NOCERCC to "carry the principles outlined here forward to implementation." Click here for The Basic Plan.

Year for Priests
Pope Benedict XVI has designated June 19, 2009 through June 19, 2010 as the Year for Priests. This year-long celebration begins on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a day on which we pray for the sanctification of all priests. The Holy Father has likewise declared St. John Vianney the Universal Patron of All Priests on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the saint’s death.
